Workshop E28: Find your Filter
A workshop for intervention in public space with expressive means typically used in performative arts, working with spaces and bodies and the imaginative observation of cities
“FIND YOUR FILTER” is a workshop in which Eléctrico 28 shares their particular gaze on everyday life and urban spaces, and intervention techniques taken from street theatre. The entire workshop takes place on the street and it is aimed at individuals or a group of people who want to explore ways of challenging and changing the established uses of public space and want to convey their feelings in relation to life that is taking place on the streets, using performative tools.
FIND YOUR FILTER represents an opportunity to share our perspective with other people and to empower them to use art as a means to take to the streets, to give the streets new uses beyond commercial purposes, and to transform the ways in which we relate, share, and play with the city.
In Find your Filter workshop, we try to transmit our tool kit of expressive techniques in public space:
Connecting casually with people being at the same place
Public space as a stage for acting
Evidence and insignificance as stylistic features
Humor as a means of connection and source of transformation
Engaging and working with people of a territory
Understanding and sharing creative processes with everybody who is interested
Sensibilization, questioning and (temporary) transformation of the roles spaces and places play in a society
Using the power of narrative and fiction
There is the possibility for the group to then continue the collaboration with the institution or festival that has enabled the workshop, and with Eléctrico 28, offering remote support for the ongoing process or developing additional workshop formats if needed.

ULA, participant of the workshop “Find your Filter” in Vilnius City (Lithuania)
The time spent with Eléctrico 28 was really eye-opening for me. I received a gift I never dreamed of, but really needed. I am really thankful to Eléctrico 28, who helped me to find my filter, my sense of Vilnius reality, my space of nature between the city’s tiles, to transform a simple square into a home and bystanders into loved ones. Thank you for changing my perspective so that from now on I will actually be in the city, feeling the rhythm of the streets and not just blindly walking with only focus on my mind.
SHARUNE, participant of the workshop “Find your Filter” in Vilnius City (Lithuania)
“Find Your Filter” is an experience that definitely leaves a meaningful mark in so many ways. It shows a new angle on how to observe cities and see beyond the usual, in terms of public spaces, everyday people, movement and the unwritten rules we usually follow. This is an engaging personal and collective workshop that evokes creativity in different forms and provides an encouraging space for experimentation. So truly connecting to all of your senses, expanding the comfort zone and having uplifting ideas are just a few of the positive side effects that will remain with you after this program.
