The Place
The Place is a series of intimate attempts to rethink the relationship we have and could have with the places we are in. Two human beings and an audience want to understand more about these entities we call places, searching for ways to communicate, listen and empathise with them (putting ourselves in their place).
Driven by the revelation that places carry us unconditionally through life and that we are actually a part of them, we want to acknowledge our obvious kinship and consider them as part of our most cherished relationships.
We are not sure if places have the same desires, but we want them to know that we care about them, even though our human minds can sometimes be as limited as a swimming pool.
The Place is a minimalist piece for a place, two performers and an audience, drawing on ingredients such as physical theatre, music and soundscapes, subtle visual impacts, humor and some grams of existentialism.
Notes for the audience: During the first part, the performance, you will be watching, standing, thinking and moving a little. During the second part, the sharing, you will have a chance to sit. You could leave after part 1 but we would love you to stay a little longer in the chosen place.
Performance for all beings. In the case of human beings, on Earth for at least 7 years.
